It was an exciting thought while it lasted, but Prof. Lawrence Lessig's decision not to run for Congress is unfortunately bound to add another brick to the ever-widening wall of jaded pessimism that is American politics. I only read Free Culture this past summer, but it was two of the most enlightening days of reading I've ever experienced. His clear and practical thinking regarding our coming electronic age is precisely the voice that is apparently missing (and needed) at the higher levels of government. If you've never read Free Culture, you can do it for free here. I strongly encourage it for everyone, particularly us bloggers in love with the arts and culture. It will inspire you. Maybe next time, eh Larry? Please?
