Dude, I totally feel your pain. I too grew up worshipping at the alter of the almighty Van Halen. Actually, a pretty rare VH poster from 1979 is looming above me as I type - it's the one you could order from the fan club back then). I think I'm a few years older than you, and had the chance to see the original line-up play live twice - once for Fair Warning and once for 1984. Both are stil in my top 5 shows of all-time. I was soooo exicted that they were coming back around, even if it was going to be all weird with Wolfgang instead of Michael Anthony. Like you, my hopes of going back to those magical times have been dashed. Sigh. At least we have the Police tour, right?
