Somewhere in a brilliant no man's land between Roni Size and Fela Kuti comes this track from the equally brilliant Truby Trio. I got turned on to this album (2003's Elevator Music) as a production assistant on Garth Trinidad's essential Chocolate City program on KCRW. The low-tone grooves after the vocal give me a chill everytime. Dope.
