The Bunnymen will forever take me back to those long, gray afternoons of my adolescence when time was a shapeless blob and all my self-centered worries could be momentarily washed away with a fine pop song. Unlike some of their gothic ilk, the band's melancholy was always tempered with a huge hook and an ear-pleasing sing-along quality. Ian McCulloch and the boys are back with an album called Siberia, and as always, they don't tinker much with their proven formula. This is a good thing. They do what they know, and they continue to do it well. Carry on, lads.
Here's the title track, "Siberia," and here's a bonus track from their excellent self-titled reissue, "The Game."
