The Killers

Having watched that great Joy Division doc recently has gotten me rummaging through my old new wave collection again, and visiting among other things the stellar soundtrack to the film's dramatized counterpart, 2007's Control. Our Vegas local heroes The Killers took the near sacred tune "Shadowplay" and not only didn't ruin it, but did it some true sonic justice. The word is that their third studio album (third if you don't count the solid B-side fest Sawdust, which besides the soundtrack also houses "Shadowplay") is near completion, and features plenty more of their British, new-romantic influences.
