Pink Floyd,Torino, Italy 9/13/94

Twas foraging on the Net as I am prone to do and found another relic (get it? har har) from Pink Floyd for your enjoyment. Has anyone heard the new David Gilmour solo disc? I haven't yet, but would like to hear what some of you Floydians think.

I heard it. Okay, I've never listened to the other solo albums of his, but I would go on and say that it is a bore. Meaning this: You listen to the first 2 tracks and you think "Naaah, it can't be that bad, it's surely going to get better...." but when you're done listening to it you realise that, after all, those first 2 songs were not so bad... Becuase the rest is WAY worse.

Wow! I'm a bit surprised. But all the reviews I've read haven't much cared for it either. Why don't they just get back together with Roger for a tour and give us a break already, eh?

Floyd officially "retired" this year. Dave's album IS for better or worse, the new PF album - it is a bit slow, but I'll give a few more than two tracks an OK, maybe 4-5. More Floyd sounding than his past solo efforts, in fact, his support band is the recent incarnation of PF minus Nick Mason. Supposedly, the four of them playing together at Live 8 was the end. Gilmour's CD is Floyd Lite with a few exceptions. I tend towards liking it for those "Floydian" moments that are all over the CD.

I know, I know, but considering that the Who started "retiring" in 1982, one can always hope.
